Matthew Morris

Colorado native Matthew Morris began his career as a makeup artist, quickly earning recognition for his artistry and transformational approach to beauty. With a background in sculpture and design, he soon expanded into hair, discovering a medium that allowed him to blend creativity, technical precision, and personal expression. Known for his ability to create dramatic transformations while maintaining healthy, beautiful hair, Matthew developed a reputation as one of the industry's most influential artists and educators.

In 2006, he founded Matthew Morris Salon, building what would become one of Colorado's most respected luxury salon brands. Over the next two decades, the company expanded to multiple locations and became known not only for exceptional guest experiences but also for developing some of the industry's most successful artists, educators, and salon owners.

Matthew's impact extends far beyond the salon floor. As a Global Master Artist for Kerastase, he helped build the brand's education platform from the ground up, sharing his expertise with professionals around the world. In 2018, he co-founded Elevate Salon Institute alongside Cameron Letterman and Marvin Gutierrez, helping shape the next generation of beauty professionals. He later joined L'Oréal Professional Products Division as Artistic Director, working from the company's Hudson Yards headquarters in New York City and contributing to education, creative direction, and brand development on a national scale.

Today, Matthew serves as Creative Director of Matthew Morris Salon following the successful transition of ownership in 2026. In this role, he continues to shape the creative vision of the brand, lead advanced education initiatives, mentor artists, and direct editorial projects, fashion presentations, and industry events. His focus remains the same as it has always been: elevating artists, advancing the craft, and creating opportunities for beauty professionals to build extraordinary careers.

For Matthew, the greatest achievement has never been the salons themselves—it has been the people. The hundreds of artists, leaders, educators, and entrepreneurs who launched their careers within the Matthew Morris community are the true legacy of the brand. As Creative Director, he continues to help guide the next chapter while inspiring the future generation of salon professionals.
