MATTHEW MORRIS,
Matthew Morris, a Colorado native, began his career as a makeup artist. With
high demand for his celebrated work, it was only natural for Matthew to make the
transition into hair styling. With a background in sculpture and design, Matthew
found his favorite medium in beauty. Known for being a quick-change artist, Matthew
has the ability to morph clients and models into endless looks with ease. With a
deep understanding of classic beauty, technical excellence, and healthy hair, it was
only natural for the world reknown luxury brand, Kerastase, to find Matthew to be
their perfect match. As an Artistic Director for Kerastase, he collaborated with the
company and the Kerastase T.E.C.H team was created, helping to pave way for
Kerastase to provide advanced education. Kerastase chose Matthew because he is
an artist, a designer, a talent, and a visionary. For those reasons, he now has the
unique opportunity to institute new techniques for artists. Matthew doesn't choose to
do it alone; he thrives on collaboration between creative minds.
Besides education, Matthew has been recognized as Editorial Stylist of the Year at
the North American Hairstyling Awards, and his work has been seen in Vogue, Elle,
InStyle, Allure, Modern Salon, Modern Salon China, and Launchpad. Whether leading
a team or being part of it, Matthew has been a staple stylist for over 28 seasons
backstage at New York Fashion Week for designers such as Tom Ford, Oscar de la
Renta, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Alexander Wang and Rodarte.
He is the principal stylist leading his own team at Aspen Fashion Week, and over
the past few years has been working with Orlando Pita and his team at New York
Fashion Week, the launch of VERSACE for H&M in New York, and the 2011 and
2012 Victoria's Secret annual runway show where he has styled the beautiful angels
Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Candice Swanepoel. His expertise and style
visions have established him in the industry as a true innovator and made him a
popular choice among celebrities and designers.
America fell in love with Matthew after he starred on the hit reality show Bravos
Shear Genius during its third season, but his real achievements he credits himself
for are the rare opportunities he has had working with the most talented artists
and designers in the industry who continue to inspire him. Matthew Morris is a
driving force in the fashion and beauty industry, and will continue to influence these
artistries in new innovative directions.
Matthew's true love is his salon, Matthew Morris Salon and Skincare, the 6200 sq
ft salon on South Broadway, home to 23 stylists, gifted makeup artists, a brow and
waxing specialist, 2 medical estheticians, and still growing! As much as he travels,

NICK SHAFFER {Guest Relations} My name is Nick Shaffer. Right now I am in Guest Relations at Matthew Morris Salon and Skincare. You will most likely find me in the evenings because I am currently a barber student at Emily Griffith Opportunity School during the day. Prior to working at MM I worked in child care for 2.5 years for Douglas County Schools. But my passion is in the salon. I maintained an interest in barbering since Middle School when I would set up shop in the garage on weeknights while living in Florida at the time. What drives/motivates me is to just try and be the best barber that I can be. I can't wait to go on the floor as a barber next year here at Matthew Morris! |
